Well, due to the whole new “So You Think You Can Dance was forced to only be on one day a week if they wanted to stay on the air” debacle, the entire Top 20 is performing again tonight. And then at the end, 4 dancers – 2 guys, 2 gals – go home. Sad face. Let’s get to a recap of what went down tonight on the show!
On this week’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance 2012, we not only saw the Top 20 perform again, but we also watched as four dancers were sent home.
The new SYTYCD 2012 format included the naming of the bottom 3 guys and bottom 3 girls close to the end of the show. The bottom six vote getters were then placed in the judges’ hands. And as Nigel Lythgoe explained, they’re not voting people off. And America isn’t voting anyone off. The judges are simply going to save two of the six people who happened to get the least amount of votes from America.
Tonight on So You Think You Can Dance 2012, we’ll get our first performance show and elimination in one bundle.
We apologize for any confusion that’s being caused this season as Fox releases one thing, but then does another. Apparently, tonight four dancers will say goodbye to the competition. Here’s what the Fox promo says:
This season’s Top 20 finalists perform once again before learning which dancers will be ending their journeys. Tune in to see if your favorites make the cut and who is sent home.
Fox is really going all out on the SYTYCD press and marketing this season. Gee.
The Top 20 perform again this week on So You Think You Can Dance 2012, but by the end of the show, only some will be moving on.
Be sure to tune in Wednesday at 8 pm for the one-hour live performance show. This is the first week we’ll get the performances, find out the bottom dancers and say goodbye to four of them (Fox is making everything so confusing this year — the press release says two will be eliminated but everyone else is saying four). The Top 10 guys and Top 10 girls will be performing again as couples to new genres.
Also, be sure to check back Wednesday night for the elimination results and again later for the full recap of the performance show. And as always, stay locked in at SYTYCD.NET and join us on Facebook all season for your news, results and recaps.
Who do you want to see make it through this week?
Finally, finally, finally! It’s time for So You Think You Can Dance to really get started. The Top 20 are paired up tonight and ready to perform their first dances that actually count for votes. Things are different this year with no elimination show tomorrow night… but we’ll get to that.
