So You Think You Can Dance 2011: Top 8 Results Show Tonight

Here is an interesting tidbit for you all. Next week’s TV Guide has an article on SYTYCD and this had to go to print at least 2 weeks ago. In it Cat talks about the shows and mentions only 4 of the top 10 names. Melanie, Marko, Tadd and Sasha and how wonderful they are. Coincidence? I think not!!!!!!! Jess should not have gone home. They have downplayed him for weeks. The could never say his dancing was not good… they just never showed any enthusiasm for him and constantly talked about his facial expressions because that’s all they could say. Well, Jess gave them great mugging tonight. Well done Jess! You are amazing.

If I were a dancer on So You Think You Can Dance, one comment I would not want to hear is, “You have really improved this season.” Alexander heard that the night before he was sent home. Now Jess heard it Wednesday and last night he was sent home. I would rather stay in the competition than get the “Most Improved” award with a trip home as the prize. I agree with Phyllis G. that Ricky should have been in the bottom 4. Judges forget what their comments can do. Nigel said he thought Ricky would be sent home. The voters saved Ricky because Nigel made him the underdog. I think Caitlynn should have gone home, too, but I really didn’t like either Jordan or Caitlynn’s dance-for-your-life routines. My guess would be that next week Ricky and Caitlynn will leave unless one of the others gets stuck with Bollywood or some badly choreographed routine or just plain has a bad night.
