SYTYCD 2012: Which Four Dancers Were Eliminated?

On this week’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance 2012, we not only saw the Top 20 perform again, but we also watched as four dancers were sent home.

The new SYTYCD 2012 format included the naming of the bottom 3 guys and bottom 3 girls close to the end of the show. The bottom six vote getters were then placed in the judges’ hands. And as Nigel Lythgoe explained, they’re not voting people off. And America isn’t voting anyone off. The judges are simply going to save two of the six people who happened to get the least amount of votes from America.

The Top 20 Results

The Bottom 3 Girls: Whitney, Alexa and Janaya.
The Bottom 3 Guys: Cheon, Nick and Daniel.
Judges Saves: Whitney and Cheon.
Eiliminated: Alexa, Janaya, Nick and Daniel.

I was glad to see Alexa get voted off, not because I thought she was a bad dancer, but because she didn’t seem emotionally involved. She didn’t show much personality nor did she show a connection to her partner. I was bummed to see Janaya get voted off though. I liked her skill and emotion she put into each performance. I was pleased when my Dish coworker suggested I watch the show. I never miss an episode thanks to my Hopper. It automatically records shows during prime time on all major networks using the Prime Time Anytime feature. I love this because I don’t have to set up timers and I don’t miss my favorite shows.

I made a note during the show that Nick was in trouble based on the way his suit fit or, rather, did not fit. You could not see his body at all and it totally obscured his lines. His partner Amanda’s costume was also not as beautifully tailored as some of the others. Why??
