SYTYCD 2012: Which Two Dancers Were Eliminated?

This week on So You Think You Can Dance 2012, the Top 16 performed but only 14 were given phone numbers for America’s votes this week. So that means two more dancers were sent home this week.

The bottom six vote getters were then placed in the judges’ hands. And as Nigel Lythgoe explained, they’re not voting people off. And America isn’t voting anyone off. The judges are simply going to save two of the six people who happened to get the least amount of votes from America.

The Top 14 will perform next week and two more dancers will be heading home. This week’s results are after the jump.

The Top 16 Results

The Bottom 3 Girls: Amber, Lindsay, Eliana.
The Bottom 3 Guys: George, Brandon, Dareian
Judges Saves: Lindsay, Eliana, George, Dareian.
Eiliminated: Amber, Brandon.

I really liked “Dance for Your Life” in other years. I guess it is to save time, but there was something about having each person dance to save him/herself that brought out additional passion in the contestant. It also gave the dancer a chance to shine on his/her own. Now that has been taken away. Is this show trying to self-destruct? I’m not making this comment to be mean. I don’t want to see the show disappear.

The results portion of the show was more exciting this week with four contestants “dancing for their lives.” Each dancer really sealed the vote for the judges with their performance, showing Brandon was deserving of leaving. It was a disappointment though that Amber danced so well this week and yet she had to go. Given how intense the show is now, I started watching the next morning instead of the next evening and then I can talk about the show with my Dish coworkers the next day. When I select the option to watch commercial free with Auto Hop on my PrimeTime Anytime recordings I save enough time to watch while I’m getting ready for work.

I dont like the way the results show works this year. Amber did not so well last week did not get enough votes, but this week she would have gotten tons. hope they go back to the old way. Love this show one of the best on TV
