Another week and another Wednesday shall go by without So You Think You Can Dance on our screens. Oh, the horror! However, I have another replacement for you. Yes, still watch the Olympics, which I enjoy immensely. But with the end of the Swim Bros Era (Phelps and Lochte for life, y’all), I’m looking  for another way to fill the void. So I give you… Bunheads on ABC Family where this week you can find Season 7 runner-up, Kent Boyd.

Find out more about the latest from the boy from Wapakoneta after the jump…

For those of you who haven’t been watching Bunheads, let me catch you up. The show is about Michelle (Broadway Star and all-around Amazing Lady, Sutton Foster), a Vegas showgirl who gets a quickie marriage to long-time stalker admirer, Hubbell (Alan Ruck). Upon moving to his hometown, Paradise, CA, she meets his overbearing dance teacher mother, Fanny (Gilmore Girls‘ Kelly Bishop). And then [MAJOR SPOILER ALERT if you haven’t seen the pilot] Hubbell dies in a tragic car accident! Seems like good ol’ fashioned ABC Family fun, right? Well, besides that, it is fun, in a very Amy Sherman-Palladino way. Think Gilmore Girls, if Gilmore Girls was all about Patty’s Dance School and not Luke’s Diner.

Michelle, now a teacher at Fanny’s school, has recently started dealing more with the group of four high school age ballerinas, cluelessly helping them navigate their way through teenage-dom. This week, the girls are auditioning for a production Fanny is putting on and the male lead is played by Jonathan (Kent Boyd — see, I got around to him eventually!), a very cocky boy in the class. I don’t care how cocky his though because it is Kent.

Boyd has said that there has been talk of expanding his role. And maybe if we all tune in and show him some So You Think You Can Dance love in the ratings, they will bring him back!

So, if you are in the mood for some quirky fun and amazing dancing, check out Bunheads on ABC Family Monday night at 9pm. And if you enjoy it, hop on over to Small Screen Scoop where my buddy, Jessica, provides you with a bunch of recaps, reviews, quotes and more from the show! She loves it and so do I!
